The number claims to be from Cabot Financial, seeking to converse with a certain Zoe Pocock. I’m puzzled about why they’d be trying to reach her, as I’m not involved in any of that. Got loads of calls from this number lately. One time they asked if I was a man with an Italian name, and told me to press 1 if yes, 2 if no. After that, they rattled off some random code that made no sense. I’ve blocked the number now. I’m quite old and really don’t need this kind of hassle. The phone’s brand new, just got it a few weeks ago from my family for safety reasons. Brilliant website though, cheers!

Got calls from CABOT Financial about a debt that’s like 16 years old. Haven’t heard from them in over 10 years but they keep ringing and sending letters even though I’ve moved house 3 times since then. They’re a total scam, shouldn’t be hassling me about this. They probably bought the debt for peanuts and now use robotic diallers hoping someone picks up and talks to their people to pay up. They just won’t give up.

Got a call from Cabot Financial about an Aqua Credit Card that supposedly defaulted back in April 2017 and is now statute barred. These lot, once they buy accounts, mess about with Credit Agency records to put the takeover date as the default date, which is a dodgy way of stretching the 6 year statute barred period. They buy these debts for just a fraction, like 1 to 30%, then try to get you to cough up the full amount. Any "offer" they throw your way, making it sound like a favour, is still more than what they paid for the debt, so they're just profiting off you.

Cabot finance keeps ringing me at least 10 times a day. They start off on my landline, then within seconds they’re on my mobile about a debt that isn’t even mine. I’ve told them repeatedly that they’ve got the wrong details but they don’t listen and keep calling. I’ve blocked their numbers but they just switch to different ones and continue harassing me. This needs to stop, their way of doing business is awful. This has been going on for more than 2 years now.
