COMPANY 'CABOT FINANCIAL SERVICES' SEEMS TOTALLY UNETHICAL, POSSIBLY EVEN BREAKING LAWS. We really need some sort of action to make this awful firm answer for what they’re doing. I’m sure they’re causing a lot of unnecessary worry for lots of decent folks and it definitely needs to be stopped - though obviously the official watchdogs won’t lift a finger. My advice? Send everything back marked “Return to Sender” with a note, then just block or completely ignore their phone calls. Proper shady business and what feels like outright criminal behaviour.

Like others have said, this is Cabot Finance, a company that buys old debts. The so-called “debt” is over 15 years old and has been sold about four times that I know of, probably each time at a tiny fraction of the original amount. So this debt of £2500, which is really written off now, was likely bought for something like £50-£100, if that. I’ve had letters myself, telling me I can settle for around £600 and then it’ll be marked as paid. That’s very generous of them, but since I don’t actually owe them anything, I’ll pass on their offer.
