Got a call from a bloke with a Scottish accent saying he was from SSE, said we had an outstanding charge of £24 for a home service.

I didn't pick up, but they left a voicemail telling me to ring back with a reference number and said it wasn’t a sales call. Looking up their number online made me really happy I didn’t answer or call back. Have since blocked and blacklisted the number.

Looks like some debt collectors who reckon the best way to reach people is by bombarding them with texts and silent calls all within half an hour. No clue who they say they’re representing. I’ve blocked their number on every phone I have now. If they honestly believe there’s a legitimate debt, they should send a proper letter before taking legal steps, and only then if it’s necessary, start court action.

Every time we pick up, it’s just dead silence. This number rings all the time and then nothing when you answer. How come these guys are even allowed to keep operating? Got a robocall from 074??? from Arvato Financial Services, hung up straight away. Then less than 5 mins later I got a proper call on 03445714067, a lady asking for my missus by name about something to do with Arvato Financial Services. they rang me claiming to be a finance firm but when i asked for details about what they actually do, the guy just kept saying he couldnt tell me unless i gave him my full address. i told him i wasnt interested and asked him to remove my number from their list, but he said no and that they would keep calling, texting and even sending letters unless i gave them my address. i just said im not interested and ended the call. smells like a scam to me.

ARVATO keep ringing me about a British Gas account that I cleared more than 6 months ago. I've checked with British Gas and they've confirmed I don’t owe a penny and all my payments are up to date.

ive never picked up when they call. the voicemail is an automated one that gives a reference number and tells you to ring that number back, saying it isnt a sales call. they call pretty often, like two or three times every week.

Oh my goodness!!! I'm not sure how they obtained my mobile number, but I constantly receive an influx of text messages. I won't bother calling them because if it were truly important, they would contact me through a phone call. It's quite amusing actually, considering that I have blocked this particular number since I am unfamiliar with its source. Furthermore, if there was anything urgent, I would anticipate receiving written correspondence rather than an unexpected text message. I highly doubt its legitimacy, therefore it's best to be cautious and not trust it.
