Cabot debit kept ringing me up 4 times today and I’ve got no clue where they got my number from. They were seriously rude on the phone, really unprofessional. I reckon it might be a scam cos they asked for my bank info and more. When I said no, they started shouting at me! I ended up blocking the number and told them to do one. Although I’m not a big fan, they’re basically a debt collection agency dealing mostly with banks and credit card firms. They purchase debts that have been written off and are within their rights to come after you for the cash owed. If they ring up and you have no clue why, chances are someone else gave them incorrect details and you’ve just ended up on their list. I’ve owed money before and honestly found them quite reasonable to deal with.

I then looked up Cabot's site and saw it was about debt consolidation - made me worry I owed something! Reading other people's comments on who-called[###][###] helped ease my mind. I've blocked the number now. I’ve had this number for ages and hardly ever get junk calls (except from AO, but that’s a different matter!).

Their letters clearly say "we don’t need to speak to you," but they still ring up, don’t say what it’s about and ask for my personal details. I always say no and just end the call. I've yet to receive a single letter from these people, yet they persistently ring and leave messages on my voicemail without even mentioning who they wish to speak to! It's evident they're not looking for us, so I'm planning to lodge a complaint with the ICO on their website. Fingers crossed they hit you with hefty fines for being a bothersome cold caller with outdated records!

Got an answerphone at 0910 on Saturday asking me to Press 1 if I’m free to chat. No mention of who it was for, so why should I respond??? It’s cold calling at its worst. Got a call from this number late in the evening, around 8:50pm, claiming to be from Cabot Financial. Called a number that's on the TPS list too! Same call came again the following day. I blocked them straight away as they never say who exactly they want to talk to. If it’s a loan company, then be sure to check your info properly and maybe send a letter to confirm the number. Absolutely no chance I’ll deal with pesky cold callers like this!

Please cease calls to my ex's number immediately. I have no outstanding debts, so I find it baffling that you've been ringing 30 times a day for the last five months - it's absolutely ridiculous! Given that I work in a call centre myself, I'm well aware that proper protocol dictates you can only contact a customer five times before they should be removed from your system. This relentless calling is frankly unprofessional. I get that you’re just doing your job, like everyone else, and have your own financial obligations - but a bit of respect would go a long way.

This number calls me like every couple of days. They ask you to press 1 and all that, just like the other comment said. No way I’m pressing 1 just to get charged for an unwanted call. Claiming to be Cabot Finance, they said it was a 'private call press 1 or ring 03450700112'. Total rubbish. Probably just cold callers or even scammers. We’re on the TPS list, so like someone else said, I’m reporting them there today. Some folks say they chase debts - well, lucky for us, no debts here so no reason for Cabot to bother. Looking at the responses here, it's clear this number belongs to Cabot too - just another one to put on my block list. I pay them every month through direct debit, but they keep pestering me to pay off everything in one go with some so-called discount, which is way too high if they actually bought the debt for a tiny fraction like 5%, as someone mentioned.
