Got loads of calls, emails and even letters from IONOS, but I’ve never signed up or used their service - no way I’m paying £75 for some internet stuff. It’s a total scam. Don’t bother replying to their letters, you’re not the only one getting these dodgy messages and phone calls. Loads of people got the same fake, scammy nonsense. Just bin the paperwork and ignore it; if more shows up, chuck it straight in the bin too.

The letter looked so legit at first glance. I decided to check the phone number and the company behind it. It claimed I had an unpaid bill with IONOS, but I've never dealt with them, so it’s clearly a con. It amazes me how these scammers aren’t caught more often. Plenty of folks might just fork out the cash since it's a modest sum. When I searched for EP Financial Services, all their reviews were five stars - pretty obvious they were fake and probably written by the company themselves.

Got a text from EPFinancial, they used my full name as well. They told me to ring 0344 472 9372 and quote 148866016. Seems dodgy to me, I don’t owe any money, and wasn’t expecting anything from EPFinancial. Definitely not going to call that number or click on any links.

I looked up the number and loads of people say it’s harassing and risky. I’m going to slap that email into my SPAM folder.

Arvato Domain firm. I called to cancel but they kept the service active because I had to email a different team, which they never told me about. I never even used the domain, yet they still expect me to pay over £30 for something I didn’t use. I stopped the payment through PayPal before the renewal even happened. This company seems really sketchy and doesn’t stick to simple trading standards. There’s zero clarity on what they actually offer.

Arvato are the ones doing debt collection for 1&1 Ionos. I'd honestly like to have a chat with them just to show the credit I got from IONOS. These lot are pretty dodgy, and I highly doubt they're working in the best interests of either the customer or IONOS themselves.

It prompted us to ring 03444 729372 and provided a reference number to mention, but I didn’t bother jotting it down, as I suspected it was just another one of those pesky, fake calls. I've seen other remarks indicating that some individuals have been asked for payments, and one even referenced Arvato. That caught my attention since we had received correspondence from them claiming we owed money to a business my husband occasionally interacts with, yet we didn't actually owe anything. So, it's rather plausible that this number might be linked to debt collection activities.

1&1 use some dodgy methods to upsell their services and the way they charge folks is a bit off. If you try to stop payments through your bank, they end up billing you for an extra couple of months then hand the debt over to Arvato.

We received a letter supposedly from Arvato about a debt of £38.98 for 1&1 Ionos. Strangely, the address on it is all mixed up and it's addressed to our daughter's boyfriend, who doesn't live here and has no links to our place. He knows nothing about any debt either! The phone number on the letter is the same one listed. I've looked into it and it turns out this Arvato is a fake, scammers copying the real company. Best to just block and forget about it!

Yeah, I ended my contract with 1&1 after my bank card ran out and I chose to just give up my website instead of paying anything else. The site hadn’t been up for nearly two months since they had blocked it, we came to an understanding that everything was settled and no money owed, and this is how they thank you. I really dislike that company. Complete rip off and super petty if you try to end a contract - debt collectors? Seriously? Blocked immediately.

Got called twice by this number in the past couple of months saying I owe money to 1&1 (which I actually got billed for back in March 2019) and they say they collected by direct debit in early April. I told the debt collector all this but they even got the amount wrong! I rang 1&1 this morning and they told me everything’s fully paid. I've been getting calls from Arvato non-stop. I had a one year deal with 1&1, but they just renewed it for another year without asking me. When I tried to cancel online, it wouldn’t let me. Now Arvato's chasing me every day for a "debt" of £50. It's for something I never actually agreed to. Honestly, steer clear of these two companies. I've been bombarded with calls from this number daily, all automated, claiming to be from Arveto and referencing the aforementioned digits, urging me to return their call. They seem to be on the hunt for a Mr Elermanshortman (the name is quite difficult to catch) regarding Reference Number 96446079 or occasionally 96460015. I’ve opted not to return their calls and have zero intention of doing so. I plan to lodge a complaint with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) as well as with my phone provider, given the incessant nature of these calls - it's frankly tantamount to harassment. If they really are trying to reach this individual, why on earth can't someone at their office just have the decency to pick up the phone and speak like a regular human being? - caller: Arveto?
