Got a message saying, "Could MR HUSEYIN SAHAN ring Arvato on 03444729393 with reference 144903751. We tried calling on 02/08/2021 14:26:17. Cheers." Came from Aqua or something. Honestly, if it’s meant to be a dodgy debt collector scam using a premium rate number, they’ve done a rubbish job because they’ve got my name totally wrong (that aint me at all).

I got calls from arvarto debt collectors about aqua card, and I found out if you’re on a bt landline, you just need to ring 1572 after you hang up. It blocks the number and adds it to a blacklist, so they stop pestering you. Pretty handy!

I always Google any number that rings me and discovered this one is dodgy, cheers to the internet and sites like this. Now I never pick up unless it’s someone from my contacts showing up. If it’s not, I just let it ring and then look it up afterwards. Brilliant service. Also, be careful of scammers leaving silent voicemails on your phone. Stay safe out there, folks. Don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers!

Got a call on my landline today at 1:10pm while I was out. They didn’t ask for anyone by name, just left a couple of number sequences on my answerphone and said it wasn’t a sales call. Checking other comments here, it looks like it’s from some debt collectors, but I’ve never had any dealings with them. If they expected me to ring back one of those numbers from the message, they’re in for a surprise. If they can’t leave a clear message with a name and explain who they are, they should just be blocked.

A woman with an Asian accent rang asking to speak to the lady who lives here. When I said “No,” there was a long silence. (My lodger is away for three weeks visiting family in Europe.) After a bit, I managed to find out the caller was from some debt collection firm, and then she quickly ended the call. How they got my private number is beyond me - the landline is under my name only, I’m ex-directory and signed up to the TPS. (Having worked in a school for years, I’m very careful about prank or odd calls from pupils or parents.) This has nothing to do with my lodger at all.

Arvato financial services keep texting me but I didnt wanna ring their expensive number so I sent an email asking them what debt they say I owe and who it’s for.
