This number has been buzzing me with texts and calls for months now. Ive put them on block but they somehow still get through and keep ringing and messaging. Got a call on Mon 16/1/23 at 5:26pm. I said hello a few times but no reply, so I just hung up. No more calls after that yet. Thames Water have been chasing me for a debt from about 30 years ago, but I hardly ever pick up during the day. So they can’t really get a word in about payment plans. They’ve bombarded me with phone calls, letters, and threats about court and bailiffs coming to seize stuff - but nothing’s happened so far. Trying to mess with my credit rating doesn’t bother me one bit.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be from Argyll Financial Services. She first asked to speak to my late partner, then to me. She wanted me to confirm my name but wouldn’t say why. I told her I wouldn’t give out that info without knowing the reason she wanted to talk. She then asked if I was refusing to confirm she was speaking with Ms X. I said I felt uneasy having this chat on the phone and told her to send a letter instead. After that, I said goodbye and ended the call.

Part 2: I’ve been getting loads of calls pretty much every day for ages now, not just from this one number but a bunch of others too, all about some old debt that’s nearly 30 years old!! Thing is, they don’t actually have my mobile number (I keep it private at all times, same with my landline) and I never put my numbers on any online forms. Only a handful of close mates know my mobile, and that’s because they promised not to share it with anyone else. Up till now, that’s been true.

Honestly, I don't really know. I rarely pick up the landline, most the time its unplugged, and I only listen to voicemail really late at night. If someone leaves a message, and I’m cool with chatting, I’ll call back. But if no message’s left, or if I’m not interested, I just delete it. They can buzz off and try their luck elsewhere - no chance they’ll get through to me.

Got a call from this number, they said they were ringing from Thames Water, but the company name was said so quickly I couldnt quite make it out, something about Financial Solutions. They asked to verify my address and then if I had any other properties, which I dont. After that, they told me to get in touch with Thames Water directly.

Got a voicemail meant for some Miss Katy Ellis from a bloke called Dylan at Arvato Financial Solutions on 03444729338. Thing is, I’m not a woman, never had any debts, and I’m not about to spend my time or money returning that call. So, I’ve blocked the number. Honestly, how hard is it to ring the right person? The message even says my name and you can hear my male voice, yet Dylan still leaves a message for Katy. Seriously, does Arvato Financial Solutions even check before calling? Sounds like they don’t need a brain to work there!

Got a call on my phone and when I picked up, dead silence at the other end. Then within seconds, I get a text asking for some random person, not me, supposedly from Arvato. Definitely looks like a debt collector scam. Blocked both the number and the text. I’m pretty sure they’ll try ringing from another number though. I keep getting texts nearly every week from someone claiming to be a debt collector named “Arvato”. Just got one saying “Hi Mrs Cheryl Bruce” (which isn’t me at all), with a message like “Following up on our earlier messages, we’re waiting for your response”. They want me to ring a certain number, but the texts don’t show the number they want me to call so I can’t block the sender. I’m only 17 and have no debts or anything lol.

Ignore the call - I’ve reported it to Ofcom. They’ve been constantly ringing a child using various numbers that look alike. When I called back, they said they were Affarto Financial Services or something like that.
