This seems like a dodgy scam to me. The person ringing was saying I owe fees, but I already sorted that out with a bank transfer back in August 2020 to the company in question. If I really hadn’t paid, surely they’d have sent letters or something, not just a call more than a year later. Doesn’t feel right at all.

I've received another call from this number this week (now firmly blocked) saying I’ve been awarded PPI from my bank. Naturally, I asked which bank they were referring to, but they just responded that they couldn't disclose that unless I passed a few security questions. I made it clear that they were fishing for information and I wasn't giving them a thing, so I promptly ended the call. Absolute nonsense!

I've had two calls from this lot already this week (the number's now been blocked, mind you), insisting I've supposedly been granted some PPI from my bank. My immediate query was which bank they were referring to, but they came back saying they couldn't divulge any details until I'd answered a few security questions! I made it crystal clear that they were getting absolutely nothing out of me and promptly ended the call.

Since the start of January I’ve gotten about a dozen calls from this number. I don’t pick up cause it always pops up as spam on my phone. A few times it’s gone straight to voicemail, but it’s just that typical noisy call centre chatter in the background. Quite annoying really.

got a call in the afternoon yesterday from some people wanting info about a car crash i supposedly had. problem is, i havent been in any accident recently. i just played along and said yeah, i was in one. when they asked when it happened, i told them they must already know since they contacted me about it. they cottoned on i was having a laugh and just hung up. honestly, dont pick up calls from unknown numbers! its so irritating and could be risky!

Sometimes I just let them run their whole spiel, then I respond with as much genuine sympathy as I can muster: I get it, times are hard and you need the cash. We've all had to do rubbish jobs now and then to get by. But seriously, is this job really what makes you happy? Do you head to bed thinking, "Yeah, I actually did something worthwhile today"? And in the morning, are you eager to start work? I reckon you deserve something better than this.

i usually pick up when those scammers call. they start their spiel and i tell them i cant drive at all, never had a crash, cause i aint got no arms or legs. most of the time they either get really quiet and hang up or they say sorry and promise to take me off their call list. give it a go, its kinda funny!

I put up my cousin’s car on Gumtree with my number attached. Within 5 minutes, I got calls from like seven different numbers, all from a city far away. They kept asking about an accident, saying stuff like "you were involved in a crash." When I told them I didn’t even have the car, they suggested maybe I was a passenger in one. If I denied that too, they switched to asking if anyone in my family had been in a collision. Proper odd and annoying!
