They come across as really trustworthy and say they're from the Pensions Advisory Service. But the minute I told them I know about pensions and actually work in that field, they hung up, though they were quite polite about it. My tip is straightforward. I usually dont pick up calls from unknown numbers. If its truly important, they’ll leave a voicemail. Scammers almost never bother with that. Just pop the number into Google and youll see if its dodgy - then just block it.

I received a call from 03336780410, but I didn’t pick up since I was behind the wheel. When I eventually called back, I was greeted by some automated system with an American twang. 
I've got a firm policy: if a company doesn't reveal its identity within the first few words, I'm straight onto the hang-up button and blocking them. If it’s worth my while, they can always leave a voicemail, or if it’s a business I actually engage with, they’ll usually drop me an email. 
I realise that working in sales is no walk in the park, and telemarketing is particularly loathed by many. 
Why not have larger telemarketing firms run a raffle for a car or some such? They could invite people to enter for free if they endure, say, ten sales calls. Just a thought! And by the way, kindly leave the rest of us in peace! When I hit 95 and find myself all alone with nothing to do, I might just welcome your call!
