Cheerful lady, sounded like a mix of some accent with American. She said a company name, might have been Lowells but spoke too quick to be sure. Asked for an African name I didn’t know. I asked what number she thought she was calling. Didn’t say the number, just asked if my address was 63. Told her it wasnt. She said she’d take my number out of “their records” then just hung up.

I’ve blocked all unknown numbers so this number showed up as a muted ring at about 9 in the morning on a Saturday. They didn’t leave any voicemail. I saw somewhere that 0333 556 5847 is linked to a debt scam.

Got a call from 0333 556 5847 and they actually used my name in a voicemail. They told me to ring back 0333 556 5520 with some sort of reference number. They never said who they were but after looking it up here, seems like it’s a dodgy debt scam.

I received a voicemail urging me to return the call, but there was no indication of their identity whatsoever. I opted to hang up instead.

If you’ve got debts, make sure you pay them, but only to the right people, not these ones. If you’re struggling to pay up, have a word with Citizens Advice and consider bankruptcy. If you don’t owe anything, check if someone’s using your identity without permission. Sometimes the calls are for someone else, like the old owner of your number who might have left debts unpaid. It’s important to sort that out as it could harm your credit score.

Lowell debt collectors keep on hassling me about a bill I already dealt with through n-power over 5 years ago. They even admitted it was a glitch in their system that sent the bill twice. Lowell just couldn’t care less. Total scammers! Just block them.
