They claimed to be from Aviva but I checked with them directly and they said they don't use this number. Sounds like a scam to me, should really be looked into and sent to Ofcom for proper investigation.

I looked up Sage who claim to sell insurance and found SAGE FINANCIAL SERVICES LIMITED with company number 01205090 at Companies House. You can check their filing history there. For example, they had a Liquidators' statement of receipts and payments filed on 18 Sep 2020 covering up to 6 July 2020, which you can download as a PDF. Seems like it’s worth digging into their company records if you're thinking of dealing with them.

Got a call from this number at 12:13 when I was at work. I rang them back at 13:28 on my lunch break. A bloke answered but I couldn't make out which company it was, only caught the word 'financial' at the end.

He claimed to be checking up on my life insurance. Had my name, birthday, address, and some other details, but when I started asking stuff, he got a bit flustered and kept insisting he was only reviewing it. Then he put me through to his "manager" who sounded even more suspicious. Both of them were keyboard tapping the whole time, so I just ended the call.

When i asked if they were from my pension company they said no, they just check to make sure your pension is doing alright for you or something like that. This bloke from Sage rang me and said he was working with L&G. He already had all my info, like my name, address, phone number and my policy details. When I asked how he knew all that, he got all defensive. I told him to take my details off 'his list', and without any warning he just hung up on me! Seriously, don’t pick up these calls.
