I got a call to my nana from UW, saying they wanted to follow up on an email about fitting a smart meter. Thing is, she doesn’t even use a computer or have an email, and they’re fully aware of it! Such a bother!

This number keeps calling and texting me about smart meters, even though I've told them to stop multiple times. Utility Warehouse is clearly ignoring my requests, which doesn't seem legal. GDPR has been law since 2016 and came into force fully from May this year. You should keep a record of your contact preferences in writing, so if they carry on, you can report them to the ICO for breaking data protection rules. I've just sent my complaint and details to Utility Warehouse and also emailed the CEO directly.

It's Utility Warehouse, constantly pestering us about switching to smart meters. They called both my landline and mobile and left a voicemail. I told someone just last week that I do not, and never will, have a smart meter installed because I don't want anyone here exposed to extra EMF (electromagnetic fields). If I can hack a smart meter remotely, then so can the energy company. I told the lady last week to never call again, but today it was a different person speaking. This is turning into proper harassment since they just won't quit. I've had to block the number now.

I really like Utility Warehouse, but I’m not keen on having a smart meter installed. All these energy firms are under so much stress to meet their goals and deadlines to switch everyone over. I’m just not comfortable with some remote system potentially being hacked and cutting my power. Big fan of UW, but smart meters? No thanks.

I’m with Utility Warehouse and told them before I don’t want a smart meter fitted. The woman who phoned today was nice and mentioned she hadn’t noticed my request on her end but promised to get it sorted in their records. They’ve rang me 4 times over the past month.

Got a call from a Utility Warehouse smart meter guy. Said the meter would cut my bills. Not sure how, unless I start using less power. He also said the government was footing the bill for the meters. So I asked where the government was getting that money from. He just dodged the question and kept repeating the government was covering the cost. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

Utility Warehouse, which claims to be an authorised supplier of these "smart meters", has actually blocked my calls both on my mobile and landline, plus they've also ignored my emails. I reached out to them directly and made it clear I don't want any "smart meter" installed since I'm happy with my current set up of sending monthly readings to them by email.

This is the Smart Meter team from Utility Warehouse. If you're getting calls from this number, it’s about scheduling new meter installations. Utility Warehouse doesn't actually sell smart meters. Don’t trust any feedback suggesting that. If you’re unsure, just give em a ring and check.
