Just had a rather odd telephone conversation with a number that identified itself as being from O2, suggesting I might be due for an upgrade. Strangely enough, he mentioned my name right away, but when he was asked about the specific make and model of my current phone- which I’m still shelling out money for- he stumbled and couldn't provide an answer. Consequently, he seemed to lose interest and ended the call abruptly. Quite peculiar behaviour, if you ask me!

I’ve been getting calls from this number way more often over the past few days, like several times every day! I picked up twice just to tell them clearly I don’t want any more calls. They said they were from O2 and somehow already knew my name. Tried to make chit chat before going into the usual spiel about an O2 contract. I just received a rather dodgy call from this number. A chap from a foreign call centre claiming to represent 02. He kicked off with some trivial chit-chat, asking, "How are you today?" but I quickly told him to skip the niceties and get to the point. Quite frankly, he came across as very suspicious, and I pointed that out to him. This seemed to rattle him, and he got rather defensive, insisting, "You can't label me a scammer just because of my accent." To clarify, I hadn’t even mentioned his accent at all; my only concern was the nature of the call. He became increasingly agitated and began shouting. Strangely enough, he never actually conveyed the purpose of his call, instead, he seemed more interested in defending his integrity. His reaction reeked of the sort of frustration you see when someone knows they’re up to no good. If he genuinely works for 02, then goodness, they ought to rethink their training programme!

They rang straight back but I didn’t pick up. Then a few hours later they called again, but the call got dropped right away.

Lots of folks claim its a scam, but honestly, it seems legit to me! I tried to buy something last night but the online payment wouldn’t go through. Got a call today and the person knew my name and mentioned the order number from last night. They helped me finish the order over the phone without asking for any new bank or card info since they used what was already saved. Fingers crossed my watch shows up by about 1pm tomorrow!
