Something about the call felt off right from the start, even though the guy, calling himself "Ollie", was fairly courteous. When I asked him to provide the invoice numbers he was talking about, he couldn’t even give me those. That’s when the red flags started waving, so I told him “I’ll look into it” and ended the conversation. He then passed me a number - 0333 202 9801 - to ring back, but there’s no way I’m bothering with that.

A guy called saying he was Adam from British Gas, chatting about some overpayment on our gas bill. I didn’t bother calling back since I figured if there was any money owed to me, it’d appear on the next bill and British Gas would get in touch properly if it was important.
