What a dodgy situation!

My old man's received a thoroughly plausible letter at his place, but the name on it was completely off. I thought I’d take the bull by the horns and give them a bell to sort it all out. Honestly, I feel like such a numpty!

They were going on about a supposed final payment due to Barclays Business Bank.

Not once did they ask for any money outright, yet they seemed so credible and well-spoken. Quite unnerving, really!

Shortly after, a letter arrived echoing the same concerns and it referenced this particular number. The thing is, I don’t have any sort of account or loan with Barclays at all! Clearly, it’s a scam. It’s demanding an urgent payment of £203.83, warning me that interest will keep piling up if I don’t cough up. I got a rather nondescript letter in the post from Barclays today, demanding prompt repayment for a bounce back loan. Strangely, there were no specifics included, aside from the Barclays address located in Leicester. I received a couple of letters dated 2nd December from Barclays Business Banking, complete with a reference number and, unsurprisingly, a phone number - 03332027415 - claiming that I have an unpaid debt of £467.19. To put it bluntly, this is a scam, folks! The most frustrating part? Even the staff at my local Barclays branch advised me to ring this number to sort it out. Absolutely bonkers! Stay vigilant!

My dad got a rather suspicious letter that appeared to be from Barclays, complete with a reference number and this phone number. I can assure you, it’s a total scam. When you ring that number, they’ll ask you to call another number for the Barclays fraud team and they’ll try to squeeze out more of your personal details. Make sure to alert Barclays and report it to Action Fraud!

I happened upon a rather convincing letter purporting to be from Barclays Bank, despite the fact that I don't actually have an account with them. The letter was demanding some funds, and in the corner beneath the address, it featured the phone number 03332017415, along with a reference number for good measure. To add a touch of authenticity, it even came with a page from the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). I urge everyone to steer clear of sending any money; this is not legitimate at all.
