Just got a message saying they couldn’t process my RAC payment, which isn’t even due yet. The number they texted from isn’t listed on any official RAC page - pretty sure it’s a scam.

Beware of this number, it's a total scam! I got a message saying my payment to RAC didn't go through. But when I called RAC using the contact found on their official site, they confirmed they had received my payment. Definitely suspicious!

somebody pretending to be from the rac tried to scam me with a fake transaction, but when i called the rac, they said nothing about it. i’ve stopped the direct debit just in case and now this number texted me saying they couldn’t take the payment. definitely not the rac! watch out - don’t ring them or share any info!

I got a call and some messages saying my payment to RAC didn’t go through, but when I rang RAC directly using the number on their site, they confirmed everything was fine. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

Got a message saying it was from RAC about some payment issue but I’ve no clue what it’s about, sounds like another dodgy scam to me, so I’ve just gone ahead and blocked the number.
