Just noticed 22p charged from this number on my EE bill. Bit annoying really. I’ll keep watching it but looks like there’s no chance of getting a refund or anything. Frustrating!

I've found 63 messages from the number 88222 on my O2 bill which totalled up to £94, and there’s another 62 texts from 85222 that added £93 to the bill. Honestly, I’m way more than just irritated about this!

I've noticed a few odd charges on my 02 bill that aren't mine at all. I rang O2 on 4th December 2023 and they said they'd refund me. They also told me to text STOP to 88222 to block these calls and fees, but the messages didn't help one bit. I've asked O2 to deal with this as I really don't want these messages anymore. I'll have a look at my bill next month to see if the charges have finally stopped.

This number is a total ripoff, they send texts that cost £1.50 each, linked to some company called stripey giraffe. I can't get them to stop. Even O2 put a limit on my account but it still takes about £20 extra every month. Proper scam if you ask me.

033300300581 sent 2 outgoing texts costing me 13p each and received 3 incoming ones that charged £1.25. Honestly, this felt like a total scam. I had no clue what I got myself into. Is there any chance of getting my money back?

Got hit by a scam through O2, they somehow charged me £15 for texts I never saw, at £1.25 each. Didn't realise until the bill turned up. O2 was no help at all, said they’re aware but need to talk to the scammer first. Terrible service honestly.

I’m on 02 and got 4 texts back-to-back. The 5th one told me to text STOP if I didn’t want any more messages from that number. So I replied STOP, and now it looks like I’ve been hit with a £5.26 premium charge. I didn’t sign up for anything, these texts just appeared out of nowhere. Total scam if you ask me. I’m gonna call O2 and try to get my money back. Just delete the messages, don’t reply, and block that number straight away.

I've been receiving messages from the number 88222, and they’re costing me £1.25 for each one! It adds up quickly, and now I'm staring at a bill of £7.25. I've reached out to O2 about this, and they advised me to ring this specific number to sort out a refund. What a hassle!

My husband saw his balance drop but had no idea how. When he phoned O2, they said he’d been receiving messages from this number and had been charged £13.50 this month. They’ve now blocked the number and told him to get in touch to try and get a refund, but from what I’ve read, it’s a premium number and calling them back would cost loads. So, we’re just leaving it. Seriously, everyone should double-check their balances and watch out for texts from these dodgy people!

I’ve noticed an ongoing charge of £1.50 each time I receive a text. They've been bombarding me with two texts daily for the past four months! My bill mentions the number 85222. Got 134 premium texts in just 9 mins, each charged £1, all saying the exact same message. After ringing Virgin Mobile three times, they said it’s a genuine service i signed up to. Total rip off and Virgin don’t seem bothered, only offered me £20 back. Seems like loads of people have had the same issue for ages, so why isn’t this number or company blocked or taken to court yet?

I just found £125 taken from my account by this firm - spoke to 02 who said they’ll look into it. I’ve never signed up for anything on my phone, ever. The number they give for customer support is just an automated line to cancel subscriptions. There’s another number, but it’s premium rate, so on top of losing all that money, I’m being charged loads just to try and get it back. Proper nasty company, totally disgusted.

What’s the deal with this number? I’ve noticed a £10 charge on my O2 bill just this week! I’ve no clue who they are, never crossed paths with them before. I’ve been trying to get through to 03330030581 to have a word, but they just won’t pick up - sounds dodgy to me! Looks like a right scam operation. Cheers, Andrienna Magee.

I’m seeing some charges on my bill - nearly £9 over just a couple of weeks - but I have no clue where they’re from or if I signed up for anything like this. I asked 02 and they told me to ring 0333 00 30581 and text 88222, but my texts just bounce back as undelivered. Can anyone explain who this lot are? Feels like a scam to me. Andrienna Magee

I'm continually seeing charges for SMS messages on my mobile bill from the number 88222, and I'm utterly baffled by it. I haven't received any texts, and when I check the details on my statement, it mentions something about tap2bill. Could someone shed some light on this? It’s quite frustrating!

I was billed £4.50 weekly for a staggering 144 weeks! I contacted Virgin, and they managed to block the number 07480223326 on my behalf. Unfortunately, they can't refund me, but at least I've managed to stop them from siphoning off any more cash. Absolutely livid about the whole situation! Cheers for that.

I went to the O2 store because I saw extra charges of £15 on my bill for the past three months. They claimed I entered some competitions, but I know for sure I haven't. They told me to text STOP to 87066, which I did, and they’ve also blocked it on their side. Then they said to call 03330030581 to sort it from their end, but the call kept cutting out. Honestly, watch out - feels like they’ve scammed a lot of us out of money.

I keep getting these incessant stop messages from a number I've blocked. It's utterly ridiculous that they continue to ping me, and now my phone bill's shot up! I never signed up for calls or texts from them in the first place. I thought blocking them would put an end to it, but clearly, I was mistaken - they just restart the whole ordeal as if I hadn't done anything!

I was hit with a £4.50 charge for a span of six weeks, so I decided to give Virgin a bell. Thankfully, they've managed to block the number for me. Sadly, I won’t be getting any money back, but at least it’s a relief knowing they can’t siphon off any more funds! Absolutely livid about the whole situation!

I recently discovered that my son had been billed an additional £12 for three consecutive months without us noticing. As soon as we caught on, we sent a text saying STOP to the number, so fingers crossed this resolves the issue...

My son has received charges associated with that number, yet he has never given permission for any transactions nor has he had any contact with them. What steps can we take to put a stop to this?

My son has been caught in a right pickle with this mobile billing! For three consecutive months, they’ve hiked the bill to £50, claiming it’s for a subscription with Three. The trouble is, there’s never been any subscription in the first place! It’s been a nightmare trying to get it sorted. When we attempted to cancel, it was like pulling teeth. In the end, I had to plead with Three to put a stop to it. And guess what? No chance of a refund either! Absolute madness!

I got messages from 84222 and ended up getting charged £1. I rang my network, 3 Mobile, and they called IMI to make the texts stop. The number for IMI is 03330030581. Proper scam that one. I’ve also blocked the number on my phone now.

My bank account has been cleaned out by these unsavoury characters: the current head honcho at IMI Mobile is MR MICHAEL DAVID SEAN JEFFERIES, whose offices are located at Imimobile, 5 St. John's Lane, Farringdon, London, EC1M 4BH (you can find this in the public records). If you're feeling particularly vengeful, you might consider sending them something rather nasty, like Anthrax or Novichok. Just a thought!

I've just spotted that my bill has mysteriously accumulated 12 charges of £1.25, all tied to the short number 88222. I can't remember ever giving the go-ahead for this, so I’m left wondering why on earth I'm being billed for it.

I've received word from my mobile network that this outfit is nothing but a con. I attempted to ring the number, but it’s just a robotic voice on the other end. I've been unable to secure a refund. I decided to call this number back, unwittingly granting them entry to my phone account. When I reached out for clarification, I was told that I'd somehow authorised them to withdraw funds from my account, which is completely untrue. I asked for my money back, but they outright denied my request. This outfit really needs to be flagged as a scam. The more individuals that come forward about this number, the more effective it will be. Be sure to call your phone provider and protect yourself from these unscrupulous characters.

I've been receiving a barrage of unsolicited texts that are racking up quite an eye-watering bill. My mobile provider has told me that it's linked to a subcontractor named Wireless Information Network. If I want to put an end to this nuisance, they suggested I text "STOP" to a short code. They've also provided a contact number: 08443722331, with an alternative of 03330030581 should I need it. According to some publicly accessible records, the directors are listed as Mr. Michael David Sean Jefferies, born in July 1977 and working as an accountant, and Mr. Timothy Newmarch, born in May 1963, holding the title of company director. The company's registered office is located at Wireless Information Network Limited, Imimobile PLC, Tempus Court, Bellfield Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, HP13 5HA. Interestingly, 64 other businesses also share this postcode. This information is readily available for anyone willing to engage in a bit of research.
