this is such a nasty type of scam - they use a recorded voice that sounds genuinely real, it took me a while to figure out i wasn't talking to a person. i reckon anyone who doesn’t know much about ai voice tech could easily fall for it, especially when they’re asking for simple info about your energy or whatever.

Got a call out of the blue around 5pm on a Friday, some bloke said he's ringing about damp issues I'd supposedly mentioned to the housing officer. When I asked what exactly he wanted, I told him there’s nothing wrong with damp and he just cut me off straight away. I’ve blocked the number now. Would recommend you do the same.
