Honestly, if you're scared to answer when these bunch ring, you're overreacting. All they're really checking is whether the number's live. Any other details they get come straight from you if you talk too much. There's no way they can just find out your address from a call alone - they're not cops or anything official. Also, these calls are perfect for messing about and having a laugh back with some silly prank calls!

Got a call from someone claiming to be the housing disrepair team - total scam, don’t trust it.

Got a call from this number earlier, claiming they wanted to discuss my housing situation. Thing is, I don’t actually own a house, got a different kind of place. Sounds dodgy to me, probably a scam.

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be Sarah from the Housing Disrepair Department, and I'm convinced it's a scam. Oddly enough, I’ve had a similar call from a different number-just one digit varied at the end! Quite suspicious, really.

I got a call and the moment they started talking about home repairs, my phone cut out - seems a bit dodgy to me. Probably just some ploy to get customers, but I always say no to any random calls like that.

some bloke rang me then cut off as soon as i asked who it was haha, it was a mans voice and he went “thanks” when i answered so now i’m kinda worried i might’ve said something like “YEAH who is this?” cause i’ve seen before how they record folks saying yes or something like that.

Steer clear of AI recording, as it could potentially be attempting to capture my voice.

Received an unexpected call, but chose not to pick up. I have a sneaking suspicion it could be a scam or perhaps just some pesky telemarketer.

I reckon it was some sort of bot on the line. It attempted to mimic a genuine human but the way it paused was just off. It introduced itself as 'Sarah', saying she was ringing about an issue with my accommodation. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

SCAM AGAIN - Got a call about house repairs, some automatic woman saying her name was Sarah. I asked her to repeat her name and then the call just ended on me. How is this still going on? What’s the government doing to stop it?! Where do these people even get our numbers from? I reckon it’s every time I check insurance quotes online, right after that I start getting these scam calls nonstop! What’s the point of GDPR if my phone keeps getting bombarded like this? Who’s handing over my number to these scammers?!

It's quite apparent that this phone number is labelled as a specially assigned landline, which raises suspicions that they might be playing hide and seek with their whereabouts - classic scammer behaviour. Just yesterday, they claimed to be calling from Sheffield, yet today it's the same number from Ireland. It’s hard not to suspect this is all part of the same sorry saga. They seem to have an abundance of free time on their hands, wasting both ours and theirs. One has to wonder how they manage to face themselves each day, being such lowly individuals, truly unworthy of the term 'human'. What baffles me even more is how reporting agencies seem to be doing absolutely nothing about this. These characters are rampant on various platforms, including the ICO and 7726, and still, they operate with impunity.

Just like loads of others here, got an automated call from someone called ‘Sarah’ asking about damp and mould problems. I’m in a completely new build still covered by the builder’s warranty, so no way have I got those issues. When I asked what company it was, the call ended abruptly - bit suspicious if you ask me! Would be interesting to find out how they managed to get my number since it’s on the TPS register.

Last nite a caller said Sheffield or Ireland but this is most likely them just shifting around, the number shows as specially allocated with no fixed location which means scammers keep switching where they ring from. They’re just wasting their own time but clearly have loads of it! Looking at themselves, they must be proper lowlifes, not real people at all. But why do all the report places do nowt about it? They’re everywhere on these forums. I block and report them whenever they pop up. No matter where they try to ring from, I report the #### every single time.

This number keeps ringing me every day with automated messages. I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t know. Luckily, my phone is on silent when I’m at work. I checked this site and, as expected, it’s a scam. I’ll just block the number and delete it from my logs. People behind these scams are absolute lowlifes. I’m pretty clued up on these things, but there’s always folks who aren’t and end up getting tricked. Don’t feel like you have to answer unknown numbers. Stay safe out there.

I received a phone call earlier where the person on the line cheerily inquired about my wellbeing. Naturally, I insisted on knowing who they were. They mentioned a common English woman’s name, then proceeded to ramble on about some supposed ‘housing issues’ I apparently have. Honestly, I've got no such problems at all! They had this robotic tone to their voice, almost as if it was all pre-recorded. I ended up telling them to just leave me be.

I initially received a robotic call, but it quickly diverted me to a human who inquired about damp issues. When I mentioned that our roof had been torn off during the hurricane, he seemed to get flustered and stumbled over his script. So, to lighten the mood, I treated him to a quick rendition of some Christmas carols for a good five minutes, and afterwards, I decided to block the number.
