ABSOLUTE CON! I received a call from a rather courteous gentleman claiming to represent Lloyds Bank’s fraud prevention division. He warned me that a nearby business was attempting to withdraw over £18,000 from my account. I informed him that I’d prefer to contact the official team myself-not using the number he provided (0331 6301370). Mark my words, that's NOT Lloyds Bank's number! He tried calling me three times, but I simply ended the conversations!

Received a rather posh call from a gentleman who stated he was affiliated with LLOYDS. He mentioned that a substantial payment had been frozen to safeguard us against potential fraud. I replied that we would investigate the matter further and would ring the bank using the number he suggested if we encountered any problems. He promptly provided me with a callback number and a reference code.
Upon contacting the bank, everything appears perfectly fine with our accounts.
Definitely smells like a scam to me.

Once more, I've encountered a similar situation. A gentleman called me from a number I didn't recognise, claiming to be from Lloyds. He insisted he needed to chat with our finance department about a sizeable transaction attempted over the phone earlier in the day. When I decided to terminate the call, he promptly rang back! I informed him that I would reach out to my bank manager, who would handle the matter. The chilling part? He already had our account number. It's undoubtedly a scam!

They purport to represent the fraud division of Lloyds, but it's nothing more than a con.

Fraud alert! I received a call purporting to be from Lloyds Bank, claiming they had blocked a significant payment attempt from my account and subsequently put a freeze on it. They then tried to pass me on to a so-called colleague to help 'reactivate' my account. When I asked for a contact number to verify the legitimacy of the call, they provided one and insisted I should ring back. However, upon contacting my actual bank, I was informed there were absolutely no issues with my account, nor any sort of hold in place-turns out it was a complete scam!

A private number rang, purporting to be from HSBC, stating they noticed some unusual activity on our business account and had consequently placed a hold on it for security reasons. They proceeded to provide the number 0331 630 1370, advising us to ring it to release the block with our HSBC reference. I haven’t called back, as it has all the hallmarks of a scam. Just a heads up to everyone - stay vigilant!
