7 monthsI just had a call where nobody said a word.10 yearsGot a call claiming they’d put my advert in school booklets or something. Told them I never gave the go-ahead and asked them to show me any proof where I supposedly agreed. The moment I said that, they started getting really rude. Definitely felt like a scam to me.10 yearsI got a call from some woman claiming I’d supposedly agreed to put ads in a school safety booklet. Thing is, I never approve any adverts on a call, only by email. When I kept asking her questions, she just cut me off and ended the call.10 yearsI've tried calling back but it just won't go through.10 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with a child protection charity, saying thanks for advertising with them and that they’d had loads of responses. When I said I hadn’t done any advertising with them, they just cut me off. There was a lot of background noise, and it smelt of a scam. They rang my mobile, not my work number. As a funeral director, I’m really cautious about where my adverts appear, and there’s no way I’d put anything in a school safety booklet. Total scam alert!10 yearsUtter nonsense, mate. Just ignore them and make sure to report them too. Absolute con artists!10 yearsI received a rather unsettling call from an entity claiming to be associated with child safety, alleging that I had consented to an advertisement in school magazines. I firmly stated that I had neither given my approval nor any payment for such a thing. The person on the line insisted that there had been an agreement made the previous year but they needed to secure 5,000 sponsors before moving forward, and I should expect an invoice for the supposed advertisement I had supposedly agreed to. When I requested an email confirmation of my agreement, she mentioned that someone would reach out to replay the recorded conversation. At that moment, I realised it was all a con, and she promptly terminated the call. Absolutely appalling scam!10 years03311431745 I've had the dubious pleasure of receiving calls from this chap seemingly endless times over the years. Each time, he presents himself under the guise of a different charity, claiming to seek donations. It’s strikingly clear to me that he’s a seasoned con artist, and the noise in the background suggests he’s working out of some dodgy call centre operation. Just thought I'd share my experience for anyone else who might encounter this blaggard. What do they really want?10 yearsi tried calling the number back but it just told me it was a wrong number ?? how does that even happen??10 yearsI just had a rather curious phone call about promoting something in schools around Thornton Cleveleys. When I mentioned that we hadn’t come to any sort of arrangement, the young lady on the line claimed that it had all been sorted back in May 2016. I assured her that I hadn’t set anything up, and before I knew it, the line went dead! Quite the experience, I must say.Thornton CleveleysSubmit Your Own Report (0331 143 1745)
