I received a dodgy email containing this phone number. It claimed to be from Barclays, saying they had put a hold on my debit card due to some made-up purchase on Amazon UK for £399.99. The message urged me to ring this number to sort it out. Here’s the text they sent: "(Verify it's you) Your Barclays Debit Card has been temporarily blocked to safeguard against suspicious payment activity. A transaction for £399.99 GBP to Amazon UK has been DECLINED. If this transaction wasn't made by you, please reach out to our Fraud Prevention Team straight away at 0330 390 3996."
