I got a call from someone saying I have a parcel that's too heavy, and they need my bank card info to cover a delivery charge. Told them to buzz off. Total con artist.

They tried ringing me twice but ended the call after just a couple of secs so I didnt bother picking up. When I phoned back, it just went to some recorded music on an answerphone that never picks up - just loops on and on. The answerphone kicks in right away too, with no message saying who it is or what it's about. Feels a bit sketchy and kinda worrying to me.

Received a call from a chap named Sid on the 7th of September, 2023. Strangely enough, he appeared to be aware of an appointment I had for a service ages ago. He proposed an earlier slot for next week, which is quite a leap considering my original booking was set for nearly two months later. To top it off, it appears that they’ve drained some cash from my account. My bank has referred to them as Car[e]club, which rings no bells for me. I've promptly nixed those payments.

I got in touch with a nearby plumber and heating service I saw listed in a phone book for a bathroom refurbishment. Soon after, I got a call from this number to confirm my request. They immediately wanted my bank details and a deposit, so I just hung up. They kept calling a few more times, trying to convince me otherwise. No chance!! Definitely don’t trust these lot.

They kept calling me non stop - no idea where they got my info from. When I answered, they claimed it was about some engineering job I'd supposedly scheduled (which I definitely hadn’t). Then they said they were outside my house and I needed to pay a cancellation charge, asking for my card info. I was sat right at home and there was nobody outside at all. Total scam!

This firm keeps ringing my elderly Aunt and Uncle asking for £150 for a call out charge. They’re really scared because the company said they’ll take the money from their house. Both my Aunt and Uncle, aged 88 and 93, are quite fragile with their mental and physical health getting worse. How is this number still allowed to operate? It’s causing them a lot of stress. I’m going to try blocking the number for the time being.

I had a rather alarming experience with some blokes who, if I can even refer to them as such, visited my elderly mate. They informed her that her boiler was on the blink and attempted to extort £2,500 from her. Luckily, her bank stepped in and put a stop to it. It was glaringly obvious they’d tampered with a valve to create a false impression of a fault. It’s clearly a right dodgy scam!

Tried using this number to book an electrician. First call just kept ringing forever, then later calls all said number not in service. Definitely seems like a total scam. Stay away from it.

I reached out looking for a gas engineer and nearly handed over my card information over the phone, but something didn’t sit right with me, so I stopped. They promised a visit between 12 and 5 pm, but nobody turned up. Now, this number keeps ringing me, and every time I try to call back, there’s no response. I absolutely cannot recommend them due to this dreadful service-or, rather, the lack thereof!

I have a boiler contract through Scottish Power, but it’s been over 15 months since the last service. When I called Scottish Power, they told me an engineer would get in touch. Then someone called me from this number, saying they don’t work for Scottish Power anymore but for Domestic and General, who now handle the service for Scottish Power. They said they couldn’t do my service though. What’s going on? Still haven’t had my boiler checked!

It's bizarre that they’ve somehow acquired my details from the telephone preference service registry. What a bunch of lowlifes! I’ve no idea who this number belongs to. Lately, my phone's been flooded with dodgy calls from different numbers too. How come these muppets are still allowed to get away with this in 2018? I always report every one of these wankers, and guess what? The callback charges are crazy high, plus they just chuck you on hold right away!

i contacted rightio about a minor plumbing task that wasn’t urgent, and they hit me with a crazy £109 plus vat for something really basic that i could probably sort myself. i said no, then they knocked off £10, but i still said no politely. after that, they kept ringing me non-stop. i regret giving them my info, thought it was a local south yorkshire firm when i called. the person on the phone was clearly reading a script, sounded like a call centre and definitely no expert in plumbing. best to steer clear of them.

phoned to book a plumber. they said they'd come anytime between 9 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon the next day. by half past twelve noone had got in touch. rang them back and they said the plumber was delayed. told them i had another appointment at 4. they rang at quarter to 4 saying he was on his way and were stunned when i cancelled. utter nonsense - steer clear of these muppets!

I rang to book a boiler engineer and they insisted on getting my credit card details straight away to secure the appointment. I refused and said I’d pay when the engineer got here. They booked me in for the next day between 12 and 5pm - no one turned up. When I phoned, they just blamed the “weather conditions” and promised they’d come the following day between 10am and 5pm - again, no one came. Same excuse about the weather and they said they’d try again the day after. Yet again, no show and they stopped answering my calls altogether.

I called Rightio, a local number around Tunbridge Wells, 01892. They said they’d sent out some engineers who later phoned me from this number. The guys had Rightio jumpers on, and they seemed quite pricey. One of them managed to break a part that ended up costing me £100 to replace, even after I haggled for a 60% discount with the manufacturer. He didn’t try to deny it either - I saw him snap the metal screw off the shower cartridge. They kept the first 40 minutes of the hour on record and came back to fix it once the replacement part arrived.

Boiler Breakdown So, I reached out to Rightmove about my boiler issues, using the number 0208 181 8923. They advised me to get in touch with 0330-333-4538 instead. I rang that number, but after half an hour of ringing with no response, I decided enough was enough and hung up. Really sketchy, if you ask me. Might want to steer clear of them... They've got my personal details like my name and address, which is quite unsettling. Definitely not someone I would trust!

I had a rather unfortunate experience with a gas service that I’d urge others to steer clear of. They arrived on-site without any tools, causing a bit of a commotion, and then proceeded to insist on payment of thousands for repairs that seemed rather fictitious (let’s just say “probably” is the operative word here). If you hesitate to fork over that cash, they might resort to heavy-handed tactics. Just do yourself a favour and give this lot a miss!

Just yesterday, I found myself in need of a Gas Safe engineer and decided to ring up the number 07809124450 that I spotted on an ad in Yell. I was under the impression I’d be speaking with someone local, but it quickly became apparent that wasn't the case. The individual on the other end launched into a lengthy spiel about terms and conditions and flat-out asked for £120 an hour! To make matters worse, they insisted that I use a different number, 03303334538, for any future correspondence. When the engineer finally showed up, he had a contract for me to sign - which didn’t sit well with us at all, so we politely turned him away. It seems that the 07809124450 number is linked to GB Maintenance and Decorating Ltd based at 38 Killowen Ave, who, as I’ve learned, have gone out of business. This whole ordeal feels extremely dodgy!
