Then he started asking about other debts - I said no, but then remembered the council tax I owed. After that, he seemed only interested in that and before I knew it, he just wished me a nice day and hung up.

When I managed to interrupt his scripted spiel, I asked where he’d sourced my number, and he said “from the local government agency.” I told him I’m on the telephone preference service and that I’d be reporting him. So I decided to call the number back myself and found out it was some company named Lifecare. I’m really annoyed with these kinds of calls since I’m pretty careful about sharing my number. Data protection? What a joke that is these days.
