Just like others have said, this number popped up on my bill out of nowhere, charging me about 60p per call twice a day. This started back in April when my business was shut because of covid, and it’s still happening now in May. I told my phone company and they said it must be someone from my staff, but I told them no way, we were closed! I asked them to stop the calls, but they kept insisting I needed to stop calling. I kept explaining I’m not the one calling, it’s them harassing me. Eventually they said they’d block the number, so I guess I’ll wait and see if that actually happens. The real issue is how these scammers are still able to do this without getting stopped!

Over the last three months, this number has ended up costing my company over £129 plus VAT. I contacted BT who just told me it’s a ‘Specials Number’ and haven’t taken any action. I’m guessing loads of people have flagged this to them already, but still nothing changes. It’s really disappointing!

I just checked my phone bill and saw about 13 calls from this number, all made around 10:30pm to 4am. None of these were made by anyone here! Could this be one of those issues with card machines again?

We've been getting calls to our card reader 22 times, and now BT is billing us £24 for it. We informed BT that we're not familiar with the number and the card machine simply doesn't have a phone function - it never rings. Despite this, BT won’t look into the matter and insists on charging us anyway.

This number called my wife, who’s got early dementia, saying they were from Macmillan Cancer. She nearly gave them her bank info before I stepped in and stopped her. They’ve rung a few more times after that, including once right after a silent call, which suggests someone might be letting them know we’re around. I got a ring from this number claiming to be Macmillan Cancer. They asked if I fancied joining a monthly raffle to win some cash. Then they wanted my bank details to set up a direct debit. Of course, I didn’t hand over anything. The person said her name was Emily Wickson and gave a charity number 3083, telling me I could check it’s genuine by ringing 01603 216194. So I did a quick reverse lookup, and that number turned out to be a 24/7 bailiff service!
