After some back and forth, they finally assured me that they would place a block on it, so I'll just have to wait and see if that actually happens. I've just received my latest phone bill and noticed that I've been charged for 13 calls to this number, all occurring roughly between half ten in the evening and four in the morning. I can assure you that no one from our household has made these calls! Could this be yet another issue with dodgy card readers or something similar?

I've tried reaching out to our card reader company a staggering 22 times, and now BT is billing us a whopping £24! We’ve made it clear to them that we have no idea who this number belongs to. Our card machine doesn’t actually make or receive calls, so it doesn’t even ring! Yet, BT just brushes aside our concerns and refuses to look into the matter, continuing to hit us with charges. She was on the verge of sharing her bank information when I stepped in and advised her to hang up. They were trying to entice me into entering a monthly lottery for a cash prize and insisted on obtaining my bank details to initiate a direct debit. Naturally, I refused to disclose any personal information. The person on the line introduced herself as Emily Wickson and provided a charity number, 3083. She suggested I could verify their authenticity by ringing 01603 216194, but when I looked it up, it turned out to be a number linked to a 24-hour bailiff service! Quite suspicious, if you ask me.
