This is really legit SSE. If you’re unsure, just answer the call and ask “If this is SSE, can you give me my account number?” and they’ll do it. Or just phone SSE yourself and check if this number belongs to them, they’ll confirm it’s theirs.

I got a call from someone saying they were from SSE, saying I'd been sent a couple of letters that I hadn’t responded to. They asked me to confirm I was the account holder so they could talk about it. I said yes and gave my name, but then they asked for my address and I got a bit wary, so I didn’t give it. Then they said they couldn’t discuss anything without my address. I told them I’d just ring SSE myself later. Since I haven’t received any letters and I actually have credit on my account, I don’t think that call was legit.
