Got a call from a guy with an accent at about 1:22 pm on 20th September 2019. He claimed to be from SSE and said he needed to ask some questions, also mentioned the call was recorded for training. I said no thanks, and he just ended the call. Pretty sure it was a scam since I rang SSE right after and they said that number wasn’t theirs. Would recommend blocking that number straight away.

03301028264 If this is SSE, I was on the phone to a guy on a different number before, and he tried to get me to agree to pay £77 each month for the next 4 years to settle my electric bill. I told him that sounded really expensive for that timeframe and asked if he could send me a letter to confirm it all. He seemed confused, asking "What? A letter?" I replied, "Yes, that's exactly what I mean, are you not getting it?" Then he just hung up on me.

Today the same number called again but I didn’t pick up. Some reviews elsewhere say it’s actually Southern, but I can’t see this number listed on their official site anywhere.

Got a call from someone saying they were from my electricity provider but wouldn’t say which company it was. When I wouldn’t give my PayPal info for payment, they just told me to f#@k off. I rang my real electricity company after that and everything with my account was fine. This number isn’t SSE and it’s definitely dodgy.

Been getting nonstop calls the last few days. My dad just died this week, so I’ve been picking up every ring. Luckily, a mate answered one time and the caller said it was SSE. She told them to wait while she called SSE herself, who said no one had called from that number. The call ended shortly after. About ten minutes later they phoned again, and she said she was police looking into that number. Haven't had any more calls since then.

somebody called saying they were from sse, which i actually have an account with. they even knew my name. tried to get me to answer security questions. when i asked what it was regarding, the person said they couldn’t tell me unless i answered the questions due to data protection. i told them i was busy and to call back later. just phoned sse myself and they said they hadn't made any calls - total scam. don’t give out any info to these people!
