Got a call for the second time in just a couple of days. The person claimed to be from a nationwide company, saying there was a fraud attempt linked to Manchester using my bank info. I contacted my bank’s security team and they said it’s definitely a scam. They switch up the numbers but they always start with 03301.

Got a text saying something about a Barclays withdrawal to Selfridges for 584.99, supposedly done in Southampton with some code. Didn’t recognise it at all, so I just ignored it. Lucky I didn’t pick up. Blocked the number and reported it as spam straightaway. What a waste of time! Laughing at these dodgy messages!

Got a text saying there was an attempt to spend £641.57 from my Nationwide in Scunthorpe. It told me if I hadn’t done it to ring 0330 1 334681. The reference was NA9175. The message came from number 07944 680380 and looked pretty real. I’ve blocked the number now to avoid any more dodgy messages.

Today I got a call from someone claiming it was about a query I’d made regarding new windows and doors, which I definitely never did. Weirdly, they even used my first name! Got a letter that looked like it was from Aviva about a pension fund of around £90k, asking if I wanted to move the cash or take it out. It was really well put together, so for a moment, I thought Aviva had got mixed up. The weird thing is, the pension they referred to had been shut down ages ago, and I don’t even remember being involved in it. The only red flag was the phone number starting with 03301, and I definitely never had a pension with HFC.

Without a doubt, this was a scam. I got a call from a woman claiming to be from some Legal Advice company. She said I might be eligible for compensation related to a diesel car. I made it clear I wasn’t interested, but she kept pushing and asked why. I told her I didn’t have to explain myself. Then I told her to never call me again. These kinds of calls are really annoying and seem to be happening more and more now.

Got a call from 0330 133 2035, turned out to be some dodgy bank fraud scam. First, it was a No Caller ID, then the bloke rang back from an 03301 number. He said his name was Adam. When I told him I knew he was trying to scam me, he got really rude and then bizarrely said he’d been to my house already. I let him have it good and proper before hanging up. He then rang me back four times straight after. Proper pathetic little muppet.

Received a text about a boiler service arranged with a company called Valiant. They included the date and time for when the service should take place, and there was a request to ring 03301### if it wasn’t suitable. I’m starting to wonder if there’s a scam lurking about - perhaps to cancel a service that wasn’t even booked, you’d be charged a cancellation fee? Just a thought. Received a call from a chap with an Indian accent, and let me tell you, there was an absolute racket in the background, very likely from a call centre. He inquired whether I resided in a council flat or a housing association dwelling and whether I had any concerns with dampness or other repairs. I probed him thrice about the organisation he was representing, but his response was a jumble of words-utterly incomprehensible! Got a call from 03301 229978, they knew my name which was odd. Ive never shared this number with anyone except for EE for my broadband, so the only way they’d have it is through them.
