2 yearsGot a dodgy call from someone pretending to be The Workwear Specialists, even had NHS logos to look proper. They tried to swipe money from my bank but luckily I got it reversed. Watch out, they’re also ringing from 01282 216416, so don’t trust it!The WorkwearNHS6 yearsI received a rather peculiar phone call from this number earlier. A woman, who seemed a bit off, expressed her gratitude for my interest in supporting their school safety initiative. She went on to query which school I’d prefer the funds to be allocated to. Then, she asked where I’m based and if I wished to channel the donations toward a nearby establishment. Naturally, I was a bit suspicious, so I did a bit of digging and discovered numerous reports labelling this number as a scam. Quite the dodgy business!6 yearsI received a peculiar call from this number today. A woman on the line expressed her gratitude for my supposed commitment to a campaign focused on school safety, which I had no knowledge of. She inquired about which school I wanted the funds to go to and even pressed me for details about my location to see if I’d prefer to direct the donations to a nearby institution. Deciding to investigate, I discovered numerous warnings online labelling this number as a scam. Quite unsettling, to say the least!6 yearsI gotta admit, I got caught out by this one, probs because my mind was fried from struggling to keep my small business going during the pandemic. It’s exactly what others have said - they claimed to be handing out safety leaflets in schools and thanked us for our support, even saying they'd donate 10% to NHS charities. As soon as I ended the call, it hit me that it was a con. I quickly cancelled my card and should get my money back, but it was definitely a lesson learned!NHS6 yearsThey called me, saying thanks for agreeing to help with a school bullying pamphlet and wanted to know which school to send it to. She asked me to pick a school to send some brochures to and said she had already spoken to me on 7th January. She also said as a thank you, they’d post a 5 star review on our social media pages. Then she brought up an invoice and asked if I could pay straight away with a credit or debit card. Honestly, if you want to support your local schools, it’s better to get in touch with them yourself and ask about any fundraising opportunities!6 yearsThis was a total scam. They claimed I’d supposedly agreed to some road safety charity thing for £189 or something. I told them straight up I never said yes to anything like that, especially over the phone.
