I decided not to pick up since I got a couple of dodgy calls yesterday from some number I didn't recognise in the UK.

I've had calls from two different numbers, 0203200524403012006315 and another one, both saying they're from HMRE. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Just found out I’m apparently on the run from HMRC now. Not sure how I ended up wanted by them!

No reply, I left a voicemail. Seems dodgy, probably a scam.

I got a call from 0301 892 9926, this automated voice told me I had an arrest warrant from HMRC over unpaid taxes and said I'd better press 1 or they'd come after me. I just ignored it and the call just cut off. Definitely a total scam! Avoid it!

I got a voicemail from 0301 3607176 claiming to be from HMRC. They said I was accused of fraud and told me to press 1 or I’d face arrest. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

I got a call from 0301 751 7825 claiming to be HMRC on an answering machine saying there was fraud with my account and telling me to press 1 immediately. I just ended the call and rang HMRC directly. They confirmed to me that it was a scam.

We've got Truecall in place, and it handles these numbers effortlessly. Just had a look at our call log online, and it indicates that we've had five rings from this 0301 number over the last few days, yet not a single one made it through to our phone. The call log gives you a chance to report these incidents, but since this isn’t the complete number, I’m a bit sceptical about how effective that would be.

My siblings and I keep receiving these incessant calls that seem to be linked to Virgin. It's quite vexing, as they ring relentlessly, day in and day out. I can't help but wonder if there's some kind of scam afoot involving Virgin, considering it appears most of the callers are based in India. Is anyone else experiencing the same frustration with Virgin here?

I received a call from this chap last night, inquiring about the previous holder of my number. I told him he had the wrong details, said my goodbyes, and hung up. Before long, he rang back, yelling about why we disconnected! We ended up having a jolly time responding to his questions with absurd replies. Eventually, our phone buzzed, and we claimed we had to dash off as the president was trying to reach us on the special line. He called back twice more, leaving one call just to wind us up, and has bothered us again this afternoon. Does anyone know when that TrueCall gadget will start blocking him?

We don't seem to have any ties with Virgin that we can acknowledge-except of course for the time we unwittingly purchased some rather subpar Virgin Vie cosmetics at a beauty gathering! However, one thing we've observed is that reports of calls from this number have only really started ramping up since around March this year, with a noticeable spike in the last few weeks. As we mentioned in our previous comment, we've chosen to simply hang up on these bothersome callers, and, touch wood, we haven't had any further calls since then. Perhaps we've just been fortunate in that regard!

I received a call from the number 0301. When I asked them for their contact details and address, they seemed quite taken aback and wanted to know why I needed that information. I let them know that I intended to file a report with the Information Commissioner's Office. After that, they abruptly hung up on me.

We’ve been inundated with calls from a company claiming to offer debt advice in the UK. Honestly, it’s rather reminiscent of similar scams we’ve encountered before. Every time we try to inquire about their identity or ask to speak to a manager, they promptly hang up. What’s even more infuriating is that when you call back using withheld numbers, they’re straight back on the phone without delay! Clearly, this isn’t just a standard auto-dialler; I’m thoroughly exasperated by the three or more calls we receive daily. As for calling 1471, we’re either met with silence or the number 0301, which is hardly helpful!

Well, it's refreshing to admit that it’s not solely Virgin causing the bother! I’m curious as to when I should flag this to my suppliers, as I'm still utterly perplexed about who's behind these persistent calls and why on earth they find it necessary to be so bothersome! Truecall appears to be a decent option, albeit at a cost! We might just consider following the lead of some of you fine folks here, but honestly, what are the odds that all this will ever come to an end?

Received a call at home from this number, 0301. We're based in the UK. When we answered, some chap started saying something, but the connection was all fuzzy and unclear, so we ended up hanging up. Honestly, what’s with people wasting our time like that?

In the past half an hour, our BT landline has rung three times with this 0301 number. The final call connected us with a chap who sounded rather foreign - what a stroke of luck for us! He was inquiring after a Mrs Bruce, apparently someone who rented this line ages ago. I thought I'd just pop off to fetch our phone, but in the end, I left it ringing. It rang a few more times, so I take it my mate was still on the line, the poor lad!

We've got Virgin as our provider, and so far, that 0301 number has only given us one ring. We decided to get ourselves a TrueCall device (seriously, you should consider it - it’s brilliant and you virtually forget it’s doing its thing!) and, as a result, that number is now completely cut off. Should they try to hassle us again, they’ll be left in the lurch - the technology simply zaps them out of existence! Thanks to TrueCall, our phone only rings for the calls we actually want to receive.

Only set up my Virgin service a week ago, and now I’m already getting nuisance calls. I’m on the lookout for a different provider. It’s really frustrating, as it seems like my number is being shared around. When new customers sign up, they shouldn’t have to deal with this nonsense!

I received a call from a number that simply displayed 0301, and I suspect it's coming from outside the UK. I'd advise you to be wary of this caller! When I tried to ring them back, the line was completely dead. Quite frankly, I'm getting rather exasperated with these odd calls I've been getting recently; they just keep coming in!

We received a single call, but is there a chance we might get another?

We’ve been inundated with calls from this number repeatedly. The callers claim to know about our debts and insist we merge them into one loan, which feels quite invasive, to say the least. Honestly, it beggars belief that anyone would hand over sensitive banking details to these folks. We’ve taken to simply hanging up, but they persistently ring back. We even asked them to remove our number from their records, yet it seems to fall on deaf ears. Just the other day, we requested to speak to a manager, and shockingly, the call was cut off. It's about time there were regulations in place to curb this incessant calling; it's nothing short of harassment!

I've received calls multiple times from a call centre in India claiming to be associated with a Debt Advice service. Despite telling them to stop ringing us, they persistently bother us about three times every few days! By the way, what type of number is 0301? Whatever you do, steer clear of sharing any personal details with these types of firms!

We recently answered a call and were met with an awkward silence that lasted a few moments before the line went dead. After checking the caller ID using 1471, we discovered the number was 0301. It’s high time that phone service providers ensure their customers are safeguarded against bothersome calls like this one.
