I got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, they said I was going to be arrested today if I didn’t shell out £900 immediately. They told me there had been a tax assessment and that I was being looked at for fraud. Total stress!

Somebody called me claiming to be from HM Revenue, but I’m pretty sure it was a con artist.

I got a call from someone saying they were with hmrc about a problem with my tax refund or some unpaid tax. They left a voicemail asking me to ring them back. Just a heads up, don’t fall for it. Hmrc don’t reach out like that, and they definitely wouldn’t ask for your bank info or anything personal over the phone.

I got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, claiming I could get arrested for unpaid taxes. They gave me two choices - either go to court or pay up straight away. When I asked which tax year I supposedly owed for, the caller named a year I wasn’t even in the UK. After I told them that, they just said “alright” and hung up.

Got a call from some automated bloke saying it was HMRC. He kept going on about some fraud case with my name and warned me if I didn't press a button to respond, I'd get a warrant and get nicked. Sounded proper dodgy to me!
