Today I got a call from this number and it was some robotic voice saying if I didn’t press 1 to talk to HMRC, I’d have a warrant out for my arrest. Proper dodgy automated message.

A few weeks back, my aunt nearly got caught up in a scam where people were pretending to be from HMRE, trying to steal money from folks who might not be too sharp. It was scary because they almost swindled her out of more than £600! Thankfully, we managed to block the number before anything worse happened.
