just a heads up, hmrc will never get in touch with you via whatsapp or any other app about tax refunds. if you get a message on whatsapp claiming its from hmrc, dont trust it - its definitely a scam.

Got a call with a recorded message about a HMRC tax fraud case linked to me, telling me to press 1 to speak to an advisor. I just ended the call straight away, figured it was some kind of scam.
