Got a robocall claiming it was HMRC saying they’d started a fraud investigation. They said if I didn’t press 1 they’d send an arrest warrant after me. No way HMRC contacts people like that, so I ignored it and blocked the number straight away. Would recommend you do exactly that since it’s obviously a scam.

Really risky call, do not pick up or hit 1 if they tell you to. It’s a recorded voice claiming to be HM Revenue & Customs, warning you about some fraud case and threatening arrest if you don’t press 1 right away! It’s pretty clear to some that it’s a scam, but can be terrifying for folks who aren’t savvy, like the elderly or young people. I’m planning to report this number as much as I can. I’ve blocked it now and even got the same scary message from a different but similar number just a few days ago.
