Got a call supposedly from HMRC about some tax fraud thing. I didn't even wait for the robot voice to finish its message. Looked it up here, blocked the number straight away. HMRC usually send letters, they don’t ring you with automated calls!

I'd bet this is some sorta scam call. Just be careful and keep an eye out for typical warning signs: for example, a bloke with an asian background using a very English-sounding name, claiming to have an offer or saying they're from HMRE or some British firm, maybe an accident insurance place, or whatever else you can think of. The biggest red flag is definitely if they ever ask you to pay a bit of money on the phone. Stay sharp!

Someone said they were from HMRC and told me to press a button to get through. Then they went on and on about me getting arrested or something. I've had loads of calls from that number, but today there was a voicemail, so I decided to have a listen.

I got a call from someone saying they were HMRC and that I was involved in tax fraud. They told me to press 1 to speak to someone. I didn’t press it, but I guess it was a scam anyway. If it was legitimate, I’m sure HMRC would have sent me a letter instead of just calling.

Beware, this HMRC number isn’t legit. Definitely don’t hit 1 if they call!
