7 yearsCheers for the comments already posted, they've really helped me chill out a bit. Just got a call from +44 300 200 7705, and it all seemed very dodgy, like a scam. Honestly, these people need to find proper work instead of conning folks. So yeah, definitely don’t trust calls from that number.7 yearsGot a call saying I had a warrant for tax fraud and if I didn’t call back on 1, I’d get arrested! Totally freaked me out.7 yearsGot a call from the number above, very similar to what others said. I’ve already reported it to HMRC - the number was 0300 200 7705.HMRC7 yearsThis number rang me up with an automated message claiming I’d been caught committing tax fraud with HMRC. It said I could press one to talk to someone, or else they’d send people round to arrest me. I pressed one just to see what would happen. Then some bloke with an Indian accent said I owed over two grand and tried to get me to pay up for supposed tax evasion. He even “proved” he was legit by pretending to call me back from the official HMRC 0800 line, telling me they’d sent letters I missed because I wasn’t in to sign. I asked if I could just sort it through my HMRC online account, but he said no way, so I told him I wasn’t handing over any cash. Suddenly he got all aggressive, whispered something about suing me, and hung up. Moral of the story: don’t pick up if this number shows up! Total scam.HMRCSubmit Your Own Report (0300 200 7705)
