I recently had an encounter with a dubious caller claiming to be from HMRC, and it turned out they were a bunch of scammers from India! I strung them along for a good ten minutes just for a laugh. When they pressed me for my sort code, I cheekily told them to jot it down: "12,34 shove it where the sun doesn't shine." Can you believe they then threatened to send the popo to haul me off? Absolutely ridiculous! Just a word of advice - steer clear of sharing any personal or banking information over the phone! The number was 03002007381, if anyone's interested.

I received a recorded call purporting to be from HMRC, asserting that there's a legal action being initiated against me. It instructed me to press 1 for a transfer to the official handling this matter. The number was 03002007831. Quite alarming, really!
