This morning I got a call from a recorded voice claiming to be from HMRC, saying I had a “fraud” case against me and I needed to press 1 to speak with an agent. They threatened to issue a warrant if I didn’t comply - total nonsense. Obviously a scam. My advice? Just block and ignore these calls. I didn’t have the chance to mess around with them, but maybe someone else might want to have some fun. If you’re genuinely worried, don’t call back this number. Instead, look up the official HMRC contact details yourself and get in touch directly. They’ll tell you if there’s anything going on, which almost certainly there won’t be. If there really was a problem, you’d have heard about it through proper channels first. Hopefully no one falls for this rubbish.
