I received a call from this number that turned out to be a robocall. They mentioned something about a supposed tax fraud case involving me. Naturally, I ended the call and decided to search for the number on the internet. I can't help but think that HMRC would communicate such serious matters in writing, considering all my tax affairs are perfectly in order.

I received a call claiming to be from HM. Curious, I pressed one to see what it was about. The person on the line mentioned that someone could arrive at my home within 24 hours. Quite baffled, I replied that I didn’t grasp what they were saying and requested they send me a letter instead. They informed me that was not possible. So, I mentioned that I’d ring revenue to clarify the situation. And just like that, they hung up on me!
