Received a rather alarming call today, very aggressive in tone, threatening legal action if I didn’t press 1. They purport to be from HMRC. It's clearly a pre-recorded message. Quite concerning, really.

I can totally relate! I spoke to this bizarre character from Nigeria recently, and I jokingly told him to come and arrest me face to face. Out of the blue, a strange voice piped in. I decided to ring TalkTalk for help, and even though I thought my calls were free, I ended up with a bill of £2.45 for what turned out to be a premium number! It’s infuriating; where’s the police or the politicians when you actually need them? They seem to vanish unless you're part of the affluent elite. Honestly, it feels like the UK has hit rock bottom. The caller? Just some cheeky "Lord of the Rings" type!

I received a rather alarming message that was supposedly from HMRC. It warned me that failure to press 1 would result in my imminent arrest. How absurd!
