I got this really badly written message on my answerphone saying something like “Important charges are against your national insurance number and name. This is urgent. Call back on ##### or you’ll face serious legal problems. Call quickly to avoid trouble. This is Mike Wilson from HMRC. Have a nice day.” It sounded proper threatening and like a scam. I reckon this kind of nonsense would scare old or vulnerable folks loads. I've told the TPS about it, but I'm not holding my breath that they’ll actually do anything to stop it.

just got a call from these scammy indian groups pretending to be hmrc about a tax issue. they're super aggressive and try to freak you out into handing over money there and then. honestly, watch yourself with these calls, they’re just trying to mess up your life. no one’s got a warrant for you or anything. total scam!

Some guy rang me claiming he was from HMRC and said I had done tax fraud. He kept threatening that if I didn’t hit 11, I’d be getting arrested. Proper dodgy call.

Got a voicemail saying I have some sort of case with HMRC, seems dodgy to me. Total rubbish! I didn’t even bother and just blocked the number.

I got a call from this number ‭0300 200 4769‬ saying they had a warrant for my arrest over some money that supposedly owed to the government. I’ve got no clue about any of it, I don’t even pay taxes! Felt really sketchy to me.
