It's quite convincing, I must say. There's a rather genuine-sounding voice message urging you to ring a number mentioned in a letter supposedly sent by HMRC, as they’ve apparently initiated debt recovery measures against you.

I've come across this and it seems to be a dodgy one! I tried reaching out to HMRC, but they didn’t respond, so I can't say for certain if it’s genuine or not. However, I did my usual digging and all signs point to it being a scam. Best just to block the number, I reckon!

I received a rather alarming automated call threatening that if I didn’t press 1, I’d face an immediate arrest warrant. Quite ridiculous, really!

This number rang me, and the voice on the other end sounded like one of those robotic male voices. They started saying something about "Her Majesty's Revenue And Customs..." but I quickly cut it off and ended the call. I'm pretty sure this is just one of those scams folks have talked about before with similar 0300 200 prefixes. Caller showed as unknown for me, too.

Just got a phone call from someone claiming to be from Her Majesty’s office or whatever. They said if I don’t pick up, I’m gonna be arrested or something. Total rubbish if you ask me.

This number rang me up and there was a male robotic voice talking. He told me I had to follow some option or else they’d send an Arrest Warrant after me. Seemed like a total scam, so I just hung up straight away.

It appears they're alleging that they’re with some tax fraud organisation, and they're making threats about apprehending individuals.
