This isn’t some kind of con, the warrants for all the folks up there are being sent out, so how dare you accuse the call from dear HMRC of being fake. And if you didn’t press 1, you’ll be under investigation for 7 years. Plus, if you’re using any offshore setup, you’re toast (that part’s no joke). So, I got a call from 0300 200 3730 on an old pay as you go phone that’s been completely wiped. Since there’s no details saved on it, I was a bit nosy and decided to press 1 to see what happens. Turns out, nothing really happens - just silence and then it hangs up. Makes me wonder if they’re trying to get info from your phone or something, but I’m pretty sure they can’t see anything on mine.
