Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC saying they’re looking into me and that I have an arrest warrant. It was a recorded voice and had options to press a couple of buttons. Obviously, I didn’t press anything. They never even asked to confirm who I was talking to.

Total scam! Got a call out of the blue telling me I owed £2500 and would be arrested if I didn’t pay up! Do NOT share any info with them!

Somebody rang me claiming there was fraud on my account and threatened I'd be arrested soon if I didn’t hit option 1. I just ended the call and tried phoning back, but it said the number couldn’t be used. HMRC never dials out like that - if there’s an issue, they send you a letter with a reference. Best to ignore these and block the caller straight away.

Got a call from this number around 2:40 in the afternoon but no voicemail was left. That always makes me a bit wary, since if it was important you’d think they’d leave a message. Plus, reading through what others posted here doesnt make it look any more trustworthy either.
