Got a call from someone saying they were from HM Revenue & Customs, telling me there was some fraud reported under my name. They urged me to hit 1 right away or else a warrant would be issued on the spot. It was obviously a dodgy scam, using threats to scare me into acting without thinking. The whole aggressive tone and pressure is just typical of these fraudsters trying to catch you off guard. If that’s not a dead giveaway, then I’m not sure what is. - caller: 03002003561

Got a call not long ago from someone saying they were from HMRC. Felt 100% like the exact same scam call I got before.

Since today (8th Feb), this number has been ringing me quite a bit. I haven’t picked up once because I think if it’s really important, they’d leave a voicemail, right? Caller ID shows: 0300 200 3561.

This number popped up on my phone but I didn’t pick up, just let it ring out to voicemail. Later, the message was some automated voice pretending to be HMRC, saying there was some fraud issue with my name and telling me to press 1 to avoid arrest. Definitely sounded dodgy, so I ignored it completely. Caller ID showed ‭+44 300 200 3561‬.
