Haha, just happened to me as well! I don’t even remember my own phone number properly and keep getting calls meant for someone else on my mobile. Pretty sure it’s their mess up. If it was the tax office, I reckon they’d be sending letters first and maybe asking me to pop down to their office for a chat.

Got a call from 03002003526 with a recorded voice so you couldn’t hear the real person. They even threatened I’d get arrested if I didn’t press 1. Honestly, I can see how older folks might freak out and fall for it. Definitely not how hmre would ring you up.

Got a robo call with a weird recorded voice trying to scare me, saying I’d get arrested if I didn’t hit 1. It’s quite upsetting, especially for older folks who might freak out and respond. There’s no way HMRC would ring you like that.

Got a call saying they were from HMRC, threatening me about some supposed fraud in my name. They told me to press 1 to speak to HMRC or I'd get a warrant issued. Total rubbish and obviously a scam. If the real HMRC had any issues, they wouldn't be ringing up first like that!

Got a call from someone claiming to be the tax office about some tax fraud? Honestly, not sure where they got my details from, but I definitely don’t owe anything to the tax man. Be careful with these dodgy calls!

Yep, just got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC - total scam. Surely if they were actually after money, they wouldn’t just ring me out of the blue like that. Normally they’d send a pile of letters first before getting in touch on the phone. Feels dodgy to me.
