8 yearsBlocked that number straight away when I got the call. Honestly, this kind of thing ought to be against the law :-(8 yearsToday, at precisely 10:55 am on the 18th of February, 2019, I received a rather alarming call on my mobile. I picked up because I often correspond with a similar number from the Valuation Office. To my surprise, it was an automated voice that informed me there was a warrant for my arrest due to inaccuracies in my tax return submission. As a foster carer, I was confident in my tax affairs and remained mostly unperturbed by the claims. Nonetheless, the recording insisted that to avoid being apprehended, I should press 1 to speak with an advisor, warning me that failure to respond would result in the issuance of a warrant and could lead to an arrest. Naturally, I terminated the call, fully aware that this was nothing more than a scam.Valuation Office8 yearsI’ve heard about an HMRC tax fraud situation. I reckon they usually utilise 0300 numbers, but since this was communicated via post, I'm beginning to suspect it might be a scam.HMRC8 yearsGot another call from this number, some person saying they're from HMRC.HMRC8 yearsJust got a call from 03002003460, said they were from the HMRC. They were pretending to be HMRC but left a really dodgy voicemail. I know HMRC would never leave a message like that. Sounds like a scammer trying to frighten you into proving your number is active. Whatever you do, don't press 1 - that just tells them your number's legit. - number was 03002003462HMRC8 yearsGot a call from some bloke claiming to be HMRC warning about tax fraud. Sounds like a proper scam to me!HMRC8 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, saying there's a warrant for my arrest for fraud and to press 1 to talk to an officer. I pressed 1, and the person who answered sounded like she was from India. Told her it was a load of rubbish and to quit scamming people. She just hung up. This might be normal in the US, but definitely not how things work in the UK, especially without any official paperwork.
