My partner got a call from 0300200330 with some robotic voice saying there was a fraud investigation on him. They told him to pick an option and he hit 1, then the call cut off straight away. He was proper stressed since he’d had some problems with texts before this year, but HMRC checked and said they never made that call or anything.

Got a call from 03002003370 claiming I owed £2000 in back taxes, then received an email from [email protected]. Totally a scam. Rang them straight away to check and they told me they’d never ask for cash payments. Don’t fall for threats about getting arrested or having a criminal case opened against you - just ignore it.

Got a call supposedly from HMRC accusing me of fraud, something about five criminal charges. They said I’d be thrown in jail right away unless I paid up within 45 minutes. Pretty scary stuff!

I was proper shook when I got a call saying there’s an arrest warrant out for me over tax fraud - my heart skipped a beat. I quickly Googled 'HMRC tax fraud scam' and found out it was dodgy, then came across this site and chose to hang up right away. I had been in touch with HMRC just last week, so it didn’t seem fishy at first. I’ve now flagged it with both HMRC and the police.

Got a call claiming it was HMRC saying I was involved in tax fraud and to press 1 to speak to them or I'd be arrested soon. I didn’t press anything, obviously. Bit of a side note, but I reckon real HMRC wouldn’t say “get arrested” like that - sounds off to me.

Got a call from 03002003370 and when I picked up, some automated voice said it was HMRC about tax fraud and asked me to press 1. I went ahead and did as asked, but then the line just went dead. Now I’m wondering what I’ve actually gotten myself into by pressing that button?

Got a call from 03002003370 just now, some robotic voice saying I had fraud issues with the tax office. Totally fake scam but I can see how folks could get fooled or worried. Makes me wonder why these con artists aren’t caught yet, seems like it should be simple to track them down nowadays.

They rang me a couple of times back-to-back while I was in a meeting. I didn’t pick up, which I’m really pleased about. I’ve emailed HMRC to let them know about it. Really not sure what that was about.

Beware of these deceitful fraudsters impersonating HMRC! They’re making outrageous threats of imminent arrest for fictitious tax debts, demanding instant payment! If you receive such a call, best not to answer - and if you’ve already engaged, simply hang up without pressing any buttons. And if you find an alarming voicemail waiting for you, resist the urge to return the call. Rest assured, there are no legal repercussions, no arrest warrants in existence - these crooks are merely attempting to intimidate you into parting with your hard-earned cash. Stay vigilant and do not let them intimidate you!

Got a call where they told me to hit 1, so I mashed it like five times. Then this weird voice, with an accent, said her name was Christen from the inland revenue or something. Made me suspicious straight away.
