Got a call claiming I was involved in tax fraud. They told me to get in touch with my employers. I was like, it’s their job to handle my tax stuff, not mine. Quite annoying!

Got a call on a bank hol from someone sayin they were from HMRC and that I was being looked into for fraud. Seemed fishy so I just ended the call right away.

Got a call from someone that sounded like the tax office, said if I didn’t hit 1 right away, I’d get arrested. Totally sounded like a scam to me.

I really got caught out - what a total rip-off! Should have been more careful.

I got a call like this before, it was clearly a scam. From what I know, HMRC would never reach out like that. They usually use official letters, not random phone calls.

I got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC saying they’d opened a fraud case against me, and there was an arrest warrant out for me. They told me to press one, which I did. A woman answered and said her name was Stella Foster and that she was an investigator. She asked me to grab a pen and paper so I could note down my case and warrant numbers. Apparently, she said I was accused of submitting incorrect tax info 16 times and that I owed about £2,000.

Got a call saying I'm some kind of wanted person. Well, that's new to me! When did HMRC start calling on the phone anyway? Just a heads up to everyone in the UK, watch out for this kind of thing!

I received a call that started with a robotic voice claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs, but to get through, I was prompted to press 1 to return their call. It all seemed rather fishy and not very convincing, so I decided to cut the conversation short and block the number instead! If they really need to reach me, they can always drop me a letter!

Hello everyone, just a quick heads up! It’s a bank holiday Monday and I’ve just had a rather suspicious automated call from this number. They’re claiming there’s a fraudulent activity linked to my name and that if I don’t press option 1 to speak to someone, I'll face prosecution! Utter nonsense, if you ask me. I shall be getting in touch directly with HMRC first thing tomorrow to report this nonsense!

So, this number called me claiming to be from the HMRC and said if I didn't sort my tax immediately, I'd get arrested. I ignored it at first but then the automated voice told me to press 1 to talk to someone. It also warned that if I didn’t, they’d send a warrant out for my arrest. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.

They claimed to be HMRC, but I didn’t even bother listening and just ended the call straight away. Who on earth would call about that stuff on a Bank Holiday?!
