I received a rather dodgy phone call on my mobile. It was an automated voice claiming that HMRC is probing some sort of fraud case involving me (they didn't specifically mention my name). They prompted me to press "1" to be put in touch with someone from their fraud investigation unit who was apparently handling my situation. I thought better of it, promptly ended the call, and blocked the number.

I received a rather alarming automated call claiming to be from the HM Revenue and Customs, alleging that there was some sort of tax fraud linked to my name. The message warned that failing to press 1 would lead to my arrest, as a warrant had supposedly been issued! The number that rang me was 03002002230. Quite the scare, wasn't it?

Absolutely! I received a similar automated call purporting to be from HMRC, alleging they were looking into a fraud matter. It’s clearly a scam, so I’d advise just to block the number. Total nonsense! - Caller: Recorded message.

Received a dodgy call today. It was an automated recording claiming I was involved in a tax fraud matter and that my arrest was imminent unless I pressed 1. I didn’t stick around to find out more-hung up immediately! - number: 03002002230

Much like others before me, I've received a rather dubious automated call claiming there’s an issue with tax fraud, supposedly from HMRC. I strongly advise against pressing 1 to connect - it’s definitely a scam!

I've just received a right dodgy call myself, can you believe it? As if the HMRC would conduct business in such a shoddy manner! I simply opted to hang up, no time for that nonsense. Honestly, the fools behind these scams must be utterly desperate. While I can tolerate the odd PPI or accident claim call, pretending to be a government agency crosses a serious line. Just look at the law surrounding it: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2013/22/schedule/5/part/7/crossheading/impersonation-of-designated-officer-etc - this oddball rang from 0300 200 2230.

I just got yet another one of those automated calls and promptly hung up. It's quite alarming how these unscrupulous individuals seem to have access to sensitive information. It's hardly surprising that large corporations have fallen victim to data breaches! - number: 0300 200 2230
